Hello, and thanks for visiting my website! I have been teaching private guitar lessons in northwest Ohio for ten years. My students have ranged in age from 5 to 75 years old, with just as wide a range of musical interests and playing abilities. I believe that learning to play the guitar is a skill that anyone can acquire and develop, with the right instruction and a lot of determination.

For a beginner, guitar lessons usually start with the basics: learning about the instrument, how to hold it properly, how to play single notes, and how to play and strum a few simple chords. But after a couple lessons covering these fundamentals, students are encouraged to choose their own path to reach their musical destination. My lessons are always individualized, and based on each student’s unique musical interests, goals, and learning style. Looking to learn some pop, rock, or country songs? Read standard musical notation or lead sheets? Play blues licks and solos? Brush up on music theory? Learn some “jazz chords”? Any goals you have for learning the guitar are welcome and encouraged.
